SHAH ALAM: The executive chairman of Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB) and his wife were among 10 individuals who arrived at the Shah Alam Court Complex for the continuation of the remand process on Wednesday (Sept 25).
Several fully armed policemen from the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) and the General Operations Team (PGA) were seen guarding all the suspects as they were escorted to the Magistrate's Court.
Sinar Harian previously reported that a total of 19 individuals, aged 25 to 65, were remanded to assist in the investigation into the exploitation and trafficking of children.
Magistrate Wan Noora Nisa Ngadirin issued a seven-day remand order against all suspects.
Those remanded include 12 men and seven women. Some were believed to be the children of the former leader of Al-Arqam, Ashaari Mohammad.

The suspects were not represented by lawyers at the proceedings, and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) made the remand application.
All those remanded were then taken for detention at the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters (IPD) centralised lock-up.
All suspects will be investigated in accordance with Section 32 (a) of the Children Act 2001, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, and Section 14 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Migrant Smuggling Act 2022.
