Mayor caught faking blood donation

THE mayor of an Indian city is being trolled online for pretending to donate blood during a donation drive organised in conjunction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday celebration, Makkal Osai reported.

In videos circulating online, Vinod Agarwal who is the mayor of Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh and a senior leader in Modi’s Bharathiya Janatha Party was seen lying on a bed with a medical worker appearing to be running checks on him.

After posing for some photos, Vinod seemingly gestured to the staff not to do anything further.

He then got up from the bed, smiled and walked out.

Social media users pounced on the story, slamming the mayor for faking donating blood just for the benefit of the camera.

As the accusations mounted, Vinod tried to clarify the matter saying he was told he could not donate blood because he has diabetes and heart issues.
