KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman has received 10 more police reports from those who were allegedly victims of forced labour linked to Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB).
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain (pic) said that those in the reports are aged from 14 to their 20s.
"The cases occurred from 2013 until this year. The police reports were lodged for incidents in Miri (Sarawak), Rawang (Selangor) and Alor Setar (Kedah)," he said when contacted on Thursday (Sept 26)
More than 300 individuals have been detained in the police investigation on 20 raided care homes linked to GISB since Sept 11.
Police also rescued 572 children in the operation codenamed Ops Global.
In the Ops Global raids conducted on Saturday (Sept 21), Razarudin had said a total of 138 bank accounts containing RM882,795 belonging to GISB have been frozen.
He said the IGP secretariat's Anti-Money Laundering (AMLA) division has frozen the accounts under Section 44(1) of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act ( AMLATFPUAA) 2001.
The IGP said Saturday's raids showed there were empty premises, where GISB members are believed to have fled.
"We are concerned for their wellbeing as the GISB structure has collapsed, thus the members have no place to turn to or places to live. We urge them to come forward so that proper aid can be given, especially for the children," he said.
Razarudin also urged those who have been victims or have information on this case to come forward as soon as possible.
"We also remind the public not to raise any speculation that could jeorpardise ongoing investigations," he said, adding that there are an estimated 10,000 GISB members.
A total of 35 investigation papers have been opened since Sept 11.
