HONG Kong singer Eason Chan will team up with his idol Roger Federer at the Rolex Shanghai Masters tennis tournament on Oct 11, reported Sin Chew Daily.
They will face off against Chinese tennis player Zhang Zhizhen, along with table tennis stars Fan Zhendong and Wang Liqin, in a friendly match.
Chan, an avid tennis fan, said he had been actively training and was looking forward to the event.
Federer, the former World No. 1, retired in 2022.
Chan expressed his excitement about playing alongside Federer against the Chinese team.
“I just recovered from an injury, so I have to practise hard and not let Federer down,” Chan said.
When asked about the event details, he said he would know more upon arriving at the venue.
“But trust me, I will take it seriously,” he added.
After experiencing heatstroke previously, Chan was asked if he was worried about a repeat incident.
“Not at all. It’s autumn now, so the weather should be nice. Don’t worry, I will take good care of myself, drink plenty of water and not let myself get hurt again,” he said.
In June, Chan suffered from heatstroke and collapsed on the tennis court while playing at an outdoor venue in Hong Kong.
He sustained a broken cheekbone and a deep cut on his jaw.
> China Press reported that Hong Kong actress Linda Chung was spotted at a restaurant in Canada, raising speculation about a possible new pregnancy due to her noticeably rounded belly.
A user on Xiaohongshu, China’s equivalent of Instagram, shared photos of Chung in a brown outfit, with her rounded belly drawing attention.
Comments poured in, with many wondering if she was expecting again.
Earlier, Chung shared photos from a gathering with former classmates on Instagram, wearing a black suit that highlighted her waist.
Some noticed her slightly fuller figure compared with her appearance during a concert last month, leading to further speculation about a pregnancy.
Others suggested that, after working hard for her concert in China, she might simply be enjoying some well-deserved relaxation and gaining weight.
Chung, who married chiropractor Jeremy Leung in 2015, has two daughters and a son aged two to seven.
