Syed Hussien will bring Mahkota to greater heights, says Dr Wee in congratulating BN candidate


KLUANG: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has congratulated Syed Hussien Syed Abdullah for winning the Mahkota by-election.

He told Syed Hussien, who is also Kluang Umno Youth chief, to carry out his responsibility for the people of Mahkota as best as he could.

"Congratulations to Syed Hussien Syed Abdullah on the mandate given by the voters in the Mahkota constituency.

"Carry out this responsibility to the best of your ability," he said on Facebook on Saturday (Sept 28).

He also thanked Mahkota voters for supporting Syed Hussien.

"You have made a wise and the right choice by electing Syed Hussien from Barisan.

"I believe Syed Hussien will fulfil his promises, defend the people, and bring Mahkota to greater heights," he said.

He also congratulated Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, who was Barisan's machinery director for the Mahkota polls, for the coalition's victory.

"Kudos to Johor Menteri and the entire party machinery that have worked tirelessly day and night from the first day until now.

"Your efforts have been fruitful and brought Barisan a sweet victory," he said.

Earlier, Umno Secretary-General Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said that Barisan had won with a 20,609-vote majority, based on unofficial results.
