Cops arrest three suspects over Kulai break-ins


KULAI: Police here have arrested three men to help the investigation into multiple house break-ins in Kulai.

Kulai OCPD Supt Tan Seng Lee said the arrest was made during a simultaneous raid at two locations here on Saturday (Sept 28) at 8.45am.

"During the raids, police seized 13 mobile phones of various brands, two branded watches, a camera, two designer bags, a ring, two pairs of earrings, two branded helmets, and other items believed to be connected to burglary," he said in a statement on Sunday (Sept 29).

Supt Tan added that with the arrests, 12 burglary and vehicle theft cases in the Kulai area are now solved and said that an investigation is ongoing to determine the involvement of the suspects in other crimes.

"The background checks also indicate that all three suspects have prior criminal histories related to drugs and other criminal activities. All suspects tested positive for methamphetamine," he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreaking in and Section 15(1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for administering drugs into their bodies.

A remand has been granted for six days, from Sept 29 to Oct 4.
