Mother, daughter pair die after being hit by car while crossing Tuaran road


KOTA KINABALU: Two women were killed after being struck by a car while crossing the Kota Kinabalu-Tuaran road near the junction of Kampung Rugading, Tuaran, on Monday (Sept 30).

Tuaran OCPD Supt Noraidin Ag Maidin said that the incident occurred at 5.50am and involved a mother and daughter.

"Both victims sustained severe injuries to their bodies and heads and were pronounced dead at the scene by the medical officers," he said.

Noraidin added that the car driver later surrendered at the Tuaran district police headquarters and has been remanded to assist with the investigation.
