POPULAR singer Hafiz Hamidun (pic), 40, has warned the public that at least 2,000 social media accounts have misused pictures of him for love scams in Indonesia, Kosmo! reported.
He said he learned about it after many victims contacted him through his official social media accounts.
“About 2,000 Indonesian social media accounts from Instagram to TikTok as well as others have used my face to dupe women.
“These women were deceived into giving money to scammers and contacted me after they realised they had been cheated,” he said.
Asked if he would make a police report on the matter, Hafiz said it would likely not accomplish much as the scams were being done in another country.
“I hope this matter does not continue as I am worried that it could encourage even more heinous criminal acts to be carried out using my image,” he added.
