Penang couple goes missing in Bangkok

PETALING JAYA: Family members of a Penang couple are seeking the help of police after the duo went missing while holidaying in Bangkok.

The couple are identified as Goh, 21 and his girlfriend Yumi, 23.

According to a Facebook post by Goh's cousin, Goh told her (the cousin) that he had been hired as a driver in the UK and would be boarding a flight on Sept 4, with a layover in Bangkok.

Goh was in contact with his mother until Sept 8, talking to her about the travel arrangements.

"Goh never liked to share about his personal life and has not informed his mother about Yumi being his girlfriend," said the cousin.

Sin Chew Daily reported that Yumi never told her mother of her UK trip and has not heard from her since boarding a flight to Bangkok on Sept 4.

Several videos posted by her close friend showed the couple enjoying their layover in Bangkok.

Police reports have been lodged regarding the disappearance of the couple.

If anyone has any information, they can call Goh's brother (017-4368411), his mother (016-456621), or Yumi's mother (017-3129926).
