DESPITE being injured, Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau insisted on completing the filming of his latest movie High Forces, earning the respect of his peers, reported China Press.

The film’s director Oxide Pang praised Lau for his work ethic.

“Even though he was injured, he insisted on completing the film. I am really thankful to him,” Pang told the daily over the phone.

According to Pang, Lau was his first choice to play the main character due to his specialty in realistic fight scenes.

“All I wanted was simple and realistic fight scenes. He is extremely professional and I trust him completely,” Pang said.

It was reported that High Forces is a thriller in which Lau plays an international security expert who fights hijackers on board a flight.

Due to space constraints in the Airbus A380, Pang had to get creative when filming the half-dozen fight scenes.

“We had six cameras placed at different angles to capture each scene. We hope to give audiences a refreshing experience where the scenes do not repeat themselves,” he said.

Even though filming was completed in 2021, the movie will only hit the big screen this year due to a lengthy post-production process.

High Forces was released in China on Sept 30 and will open in Malaysia on Oct 3.

> Martial arts superstar Sammo Hung may be in his 70s but appeared decades younger, sportting a head full of dark hair when filming for a new movie recently, reported China Press.

Photos of Hung on the set of Kung Fu Kid went viral, showing him wearing a wig made of thick dark hair.

Despite needing the help of a walking stick to move about in his daily life, Hung surprised many by how adept he can be filming choreographed fight scenes.

It was reported that Kung Fu Kid is an adaptation of the play Foshan Kung Fu Boy, which tells the story of a family trying to keep kung fu alive in the 20th century.

Other stars in the film include Michelle Yim, Malaysian actress Mimi Chu and Pierre Ngo.
