MadaCorp CEO apologises for snubbing Mat Sabu

ALOR SETAR: MadaCorp chief executive officer Abdullah Ismail has apologised for not shaking hands with Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, as seen in a viral video.

Abdullah said he had already greeted and shaken hands with the Agriculture and Food Security Minister when he arrived for the Program Sentuhan Madani at the Farmers Organisation building in Tajar on Monday (Sept 30).

"On the viral video of me not shaking hands with Mohamad during his working visit to Kedah on Sept 30, I would like to state that I greeted him as soon as he alighted from his car," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Oct 2).

Abdullah said he accompanied Mohamad to greet other officers and the minister extended his hand to him again.

"Because I had already shaken his hand, I was taken aback and imprudently did not do so again.

" I humbly admit my mistake and apologise for the misunderstanding," he said.

Earlier, Kedah Amanah communications director Firdaus Shater, in a statement, said Abdullah's actions were unprofessional.

"Kedah Amanah believes that differences in political ideology should not hinder respect for each other, especially among Muslims," he said.
