Student falls to her death in KL school


KUALA LUMPUR: A 13-year-old girl fell to her death from several floors of a school building in the city on Tuesday (Oct 1).

The school confirmed that one of its students passed away.

"Immediate emergency measures were taken, and authorities were notified.

"Despite these efforts, the medical personnel confirmed the student had passed away.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family during this difficult time," the school said in a statement.

"The school counsellors remain fully committed to safeguarding the well-being of students and lessening the psychological impact on other students.

"As this incident has garnered attention on social media, there was unverified information.

"Please refrain from spreading the unverified message," the school said.

The school also urged the public to honour the privacy of the family and the memory of the deceased.

"Official investigation is in progress, and the school is giving full cooperation," it said.

City police reportedly confirmed the incident.
