KUALA LUMPUR: A dozen policemen have been arrested in Kedah after a raid by the Bukit Aman Integrity and Standards Compliance Department.
The matter was confirmed by the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, who added that the police will not "turn a blind eye" on those in the force found with disciplinary issues and criminal offences.
On Wednesday (Oct 3), 31 people were found to have tested positive for drugs after a raid at an entertainment outlet in Sungai Petani.
Of that, 12 were policemen, including two officers.
News of the arrests had been making its rounds on social media today.
"I have instructed the Kedah police to suspend these personnel immediately.
"Aside from that, we will also be going after their supervisors. We will be taking action against them under Rule 3C of the Public Officers Regulations (Conduct and Discipline) 1993.
"The supervisors will also be transferred from their current posts because they are not fit to manage their subordinates," he said when contacted.
He added that this was a warning to all serving in the force to not go above the law, and that bad cops would not be allowed to taint the police force.
