Crane falls off trailer, damages house and car in Penang

GEORGE TOWN: A crane that was being transported on a trailer fell onto a house and a car, causing serious damage to both, on Changkat Delima 2 in Island Glades here.

The crane, part of heavy machinery for the Package Two Bypass Project linking Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway to Air Itam, is believed to have been en route to the construction site when the incident occurred.

It left a portion of the house damaged with the rear of the trailer partially in the compound, while the crane landed on its side and blocked the road after smashing into a car parked outside at about 3.30pm on Thursday (Oct 3).

Works are being conducted to remove the machinery out of the way and resume traffic flow.
