Pakistani man gets 13-year jail term for raping underage girl in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: A 24-year-old Pakistani man was jailed for 13 years and ordered to be given three strokes of the rotan for raping an underage girl in the Beluran district.

The man pleaded guilty to statutory rape before Sandakan Sessions Court Judge Zaini Fishir @ Fisal on Friday (Oct 4).

Based on the facts of the case, he committed the act in the 13-year-old girl’s parent’s room on Sept 21, at around 10pm when her parents and siblings were asleep.

The girl, who was his girlfriend, had opened the back door and allowed him to enter when her parents and siblings had fallen asleep in the living room.

The matter came to light when the girl’s friend informed their school teacher of the matter.

Following this information, the girl was made to lodge a police report on Sept 27, where she admitted that she and the man had sexual intercourse at the said time and place.

Medical examination of the girl also found old tear marks on her private parts.

Deputy public prosecutor Muhammad Al Hakim B Abdul Razak prosecuted.
