A VIDEO of four dogs accompanying their pregnant owner to a hospital in Shaanxi province, China, has received widespread acclaim online, reported China Press.
Social media users praised the dogs for their unwavering loyalty and commended the ambulance crew for their compassion and understanding.
According to the daily, the woman had gone into labour and needed to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance on Sept 26.
At the time, she had no one else with her.
When the dogs saw her in distress and being taken away by unfamiliar medical personnel, they followed her closely to the ambulance and refused to leave.
Moved by the sight, the ambulance staff allowed the four dogs to board the ambulance and accompany the woman to the hospital.
People commented that the presence of the dogs had provided significant emotional support for the pregnant woman during the challenging time.
One of them said: “The dogs know something is happening; they just want to stay with their owner, even if they are scared.”
> Former Hong Kong sex symbol Amy Yip has joked that her first task when she returns home would be to lose weight after enjoying the local cuisine in Malaysia, Sin Chew Daily reported.
On her impression of Malaysia, Yip said Malaysians are very friendly.
She also said her friends had recommended that she try the local seafood, as it was fresher than what she finds in Hong Kong.
Yip also met with Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh’s mother Datin Janet Yeoh in Ipoh on Thursday.
“This is my first trip to Malaysia and Ipoh. I also visited Michelle Yeoh’s mother. Since it’s the first day of the ninth lunar month, we enjoyed a vegetarian meal together,” she said.
Yip also savoured fresh Musang King and D24 durians, as well as durian ice cream in Ipoh.
“I tried durian in Hong Kong before, and at first, I didn’t like it.
“But after seeing my sister enjoy it, I gradually accepted its flavour,” she added.
