Motorcycle licence upgrade programme has no expiry so no need to rush, says JPJ

PETALING JAYA: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has urged applicants not to rush into registering for the motorcycle licence upgrade.

Individuals holding Class B2/B1 driving licences are advised not to hurry, as there is no expiry date or deadline for the programme registration.

"JPJ also advises all driving institutes involved to accept all applicants, and the list will be updated regularly to accommodate those eligible for the special upgrade programme to Class B," said the JPJ director-general in a statement on Saturday (Oct 5).

JPJ mentioned a system glitch affecting the checking status of the licence upgrade programme has been addressed promptly.

"Those who previously received a message stating 'non-citizens of Malaysia are not eligible' can check their status again by re-logging into the system," the statement added.
