Body of missing man found in Penang


GEORGE TOWN: The body of a 44-year-old man who went missing while swimming has been found on a rock in Tanjung Tokong here.

A Penang Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the body was found about 50m from the beach.

"We received a distress call from the public at about 6.30pm on Sunday (Oct 6)," he said.

The spokesman said a team of nine firemen from the Bagan Jermal fire station was dispatched to the location and the victim was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

The body of the victim was then handed over to the police for further action.
