ACTRESS Datin Atikah Suhaime’s simple fried rice, a staple from her family’s less fortunate days, has become a beloved dish among her in-laws, reported Kosmo!.
“This fried rice holds a special memory,” Atikah shared.
“When my family was struggling, my mother would make this dish using only anchovies, without meat or chicken.”
Despite her current wealth, Atikah still occasionally prepares the anchovy fried rice to cherish the taste of her mother’s cooking.
“One day, my father-in-law caught the aroma when I was cooking and insisted on trying it.
“Since then, the recipe has spread among my in-laws.”
Atikah added that her husband, Datuk Lokman Teh, is also fond of her fried rice.
However, her family in Singapore has lost their appetite for it, as it evokes memories of their difficult past.

Sik Fire and Rescue Department chief Zulkhairi Mat Tanjil said the 21-year-old woman had not been wearing the ring for some time and decided to force it onto her finger.
However, her efforts resulted in pain and swelling, prompting her to seek help.
Zulkhairi said that firefighters used specialised tools to successfully remove the wedding ring.
Despite trying various methods such as using soap, oil and lotion, the woman was unable to free the ring on her own.
