Elderly woman left bleeding after snatch theft in Bangsar

KUALA LUMPUR: A 78-year-old woman was left bleeding from the head after being targeted by a snatch thief in Bangsar here.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said the victim was walking along Jalan Limau Manis when the incident occurred at about 6.30am on Monday (Oct 7).

"She was on her way to a nearby shop to buy a newspaper, which is her daily routine, when her bag was snatched by a man on a motorcycle.

"The impact of the snatch threw her to the ground, where she suffered a head injury," he said when contacted.

There were no valuables in the bag that was snatched, he added.

"The bleeding was quite serious and she is still under observation at the University of Malaya Medical Centre," he said.
