PETALING JAYA: The videos of several girls being bullied do not involve students of Kuen Cheng High School, according to the school’s principal office.
It filed a police report after the videos were circulated on social media linking it to the tragic death of one of its students.
“The recent heartbreaking incident of a Kuen Cheng High School student falling to her death caught wide attention from the public.
“It has come to our attention that two videos circulating on social media have been trying to link the bullying cases of several girls to the incident, for the purpose of misleading the public and spreading false news,” it said.
The school said the identities of the girls in the videos were not known, adding that the locations shown were unrelated to the school premises.
It urged the public to treat the situation with caution, adding that they should refrain from sharing unverified information to prevent unnecessary panic and confusion.
The school warned that it reserves the right to pursue legal action against anyone spreading false information.
On Oct 1, a 13-year-old girl fell to her death from a school building. The police classified the incident as sudden death.
The girl’s father later left a heartfelt letter to her in a social media post, expressing his inability to sleep and his deep sorrow.
He praised his daughter for her bravery and resilience, acknowledging the hardships she faced.
