"During 'Ops Bersama', we inspected six locations and checked the documents of 56 foreign nationals, detaining 40 for various immigration offences," he said.

He added that on Oct 8, operations 'Ops Mahir', 'Ops Selera', and 'Ops Sapu' were launched, resulting in inspections at eight locations and the arrest of 18 individuals from the 47 foreign nationals checked.

The detainees include 19 from Myanmar, 18 from Indonesia, 3 from Bangladesh, 4 from Thailand, 2 from Vietnam, and 1 from Pakistan, with ages ranging from 18 to 53.

"The detainees are being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for lacking valid entry documents and overstaying," Rusdi said on Wednesday (Oct 9).

He added that further investigations are underway under Rule 17(b) and Rule 11(7)(a) of the Immigration Regulations 1963 for infringements related to visit pass requirements and conditions of the social visit pass (PLS).
