MIC unveils appointments for new term


KUALA LUMPUR: The MIC has unveiled several key appointments for the 2024-2027 term, including the elevation of its treasurer-general Tan Sri M. Ramasamy to vice-president.

Party president Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran confirmed this when contacted by Bernama, saying that the position of treasurer-general has now been taken over by Segambut division chief Datuk N. Sivakumar.

“All the individuals appointed will play crucial roles in empowering the party, effective Monday, until the next party elections, which are expected in 2027,” he said.

He also confirmed several other appointments, including Datuk AK Ramalinggam as the new information chief, Datuk N. Rawisandran as MIC building chairman, Datuk N. Muneandy as national organising secretary, and Datuk Dr AT Kumararajah as executive secretary.

In addition, former information chief Datuk R. Thinalan has been given a new role as national strategy officer, while central working committee member L. Siva Subramaniam has been appointed chairman of the national media bureau.
