A KINDERGARTEN teacher in Beijing, China, was bombarded by calls from a parent in the wee hours asking about the starting date for classes and demanding an immediate response, reported China Press.
The teacher was also criticised for not responding immediately, leaving her dumbfounded.
According to the daily, the teacher first received a text from a child’s parent at 4.50am, asking, “When does kindergarten start? 7th or the 8th?” The parent then texted the teacher “Please respond immediately”.
In subsequent messages, the parent said by choosing this profession, the kindergarten teacher should be available at all times.
“Since you are in this profession, you need to have some responsibility. You didn’t answer my calls; what does that mean?” the parent messaged.
From the screenshots shared by the teacher, it was seen that the parent kept calling her after sending the messages.
The teacher expressed her confusion and helplessness, saying, “Am I really expected to be online 24/7?”
Many people sympathised with her, with one commenting, “This parent is mentally unwell and might be harassing the teacher; can she report this?”
> Sin Chew Daily reported that a “mobile banquet truck” in Jilin City, China, drew a lot of attention during the recent holidays.
In just six minutes, this truck can be transformed into a “dining hall” that accommodates 200 people or 24 tables for banquets.
It even includes karaoke and other entertainment facilities.
The truck owner, who wished to be known only as Liu, said he invested 700,000 yuan (about RM42,300) in the 17.5m-long vehicle, primarily operating in Anhui and Jiangsu provinces.
“This truck is just for dining; cooking is done in a kitchen truck or at a nearby set-up. The food will be brought over once it is ready,” he said.
