WHEN he was nine months old, Muhammad Faqqeh Adha Abu Soffian had a fever and his eyes “shone like a cat”.
He was subsequently diagnosed by doctors at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Alor Setar, with retinoblastoma, a type of eye cancer common in young children, Kosmo reported.
As the lump in his right eye grows bigger, the two-year-old is also rapidly losing weight, said his mother Nor Ashma Abdullah, 43.
A photo published in the news report showed an enormous growth which covered almost half of the toddler’s face.
“The doctor said he needs to be given a special milk formula but due to its high price, I’m only able to provide him breast milk and normal powdered milk, which is cheaper,” Nor Ashma said.
> Actress Emma Maembong, who has parted amicably from her husband of four years, said she has continued to upload photos of him on social media so that her children are not impacted by the divorce, Berita Harian reported.
“My intention is to protect their emotions. I want the children to see that their family is still happy,” she said.
Emma, 32, declined to reveal much about her divorce from Muhammad Shazli Azhar except to say that she is relieved that they are still on good terms.
“Although we are no longer together, our relationship remains good.
“We accept the divorce with an open heart. We view this as a challenge for us to become better people,” she said.
Before confirming the divorce, there had been much talk about the matter on Internet forums.
Emma and Muhammad Shazli, who married in February 2020, have two sons together.
