PETALING JAYA: A woman experienced true Malaysian hospitality after Johor immigration officers helped her reunite with RM1,500 she had lost while travelling from Johor to Singapore.

According to a Facebook post by the woman’s daughter-in-law on Monday (Oct 7), she expressed gratitude to the officers who swiftly located the woman and her missing cash.

“I want to take a moment to express my deepest thanks to the truly honest and dedicated Johor immigration officers who returned my mother-in-law’s money after it was found.

“In times like this, it’s heartwarming to know that there are still people out there who go above and beyond to help others.

“I am incredibly grateful for the officers’ honesty and professionalism, and I want to extend a huge thank you for restoring my faith in the kindness of humanity,” Facebook user Sukie Tay shared.

Sukie also posted heartwarming pictures of her mother-in-law posing with the officers after they returned the money to her.

According to the Singaporean online portal Mothership, the woman had been travelling by train from Johor to Singapore on Monday when she realised that her money was missing.

Unfortunately, she only noticed her missing money after arriving in Singapore. She then retraced her steps on the train in a fruitless effort to recover it.

Being in a rush, the woman had originally given up hope of finding the money when Singapore immigration officers contacted their counterparts in Johor, who immediately launched a search for the missing cash.

The officers quickly located the money and contacted the woman, returning it to her shortly after.
