Ampang cops rescue two boys locked in house unsupervised for two days

AMPANG: Two boys have been rescued after they were locked in a house for two days without any guardian present.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said the police received information that the boys had been left in the house and sent a team to the location.

"We rescued the boys, aged one and six, who were left at home for about two days," he said in a statement on Friday (Oct 11).

The boys were then taken to Ampang Hospital for medical checks.

"There were old and new wounds on the boys. They are still being treated at the hospital," he said.

Investigations led police to arrest the 41-year-old mother on Oct 9.

"The woman, who works as a masseuse, has been remanded until Oct 16," said ACP Mohd Azam.

The case is classified under Sections 31(1) and 33 of the Child Act for ill-treatment, neglect, abandonment or exposure of children; and leaving a child without reasonable supervision, respectively.
