KLANG: Alarmed at the sounds of what he suspected was child abuse in a house next door, a Klang resident alerted an non-governmental organisation (NGO), which rushed to the scene on Thursday (Oct 10).

After speaking to the three children in the house, the eight rescuers from Tamilar Kural Association Malaysia were shocked at the sordid details that emerged and immediately removed the children from the house.

“We immediately took them to the North Klang district police headquarters where I also lodged a report,’’ said the association's president N. Saravanan.

According to the report, Saravanan had spoken with the two boys, aged 14 and 9 years old, as well as a 10-year-old girl and was told that they were repeatedly beaten by their step-father.

The report also said that the girl alleged that she was also forced to perform oral sex on the stepfather.

The children also claimed that they were fed rotting food.

North Klang OCPD ACP Vijaya Rao Samachalu said in a statement Thursday that early investigations indicated that the juvenile victims were found to have been regularly beaten for refusing to eat rotten food and do chores.

ACP Vijaya Rao said the case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 and Section 14(b) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

“Efforts to track down the suspect are ongoing,’’ said ACP Vijaya Rao.

The children have been sent to the hospital for treatment and examination after which they would be sent to the Welfare Department, ACP Vijaya Rao said.

Meanwhile, Saravanan said that none of the children were in school and their mother had gone to work in another state six months ago.

“The older boy told us that he had gone to school until Primary Three while both the younger children had never been to school,’’ he added.
