Filthy brothel on KL’s Jalan Petaling busted by authorities

A FILTHY and foul-smelling brothel on Jalan Petaling here was found to be offering the services of Indonesian prostitutes for as little as RM60.

The brothel, which was raided by a team from the Kuala Lumpur Immigration Department on Wednesday, consists of small rooms furnished with beds for the women.

During the operation, several local and foreign customers were present, reported Sinar Harian.

One Indonesian woman in her 20s admitted to understanding the nature of her work.

“I just arrived from Batam this afternoon. My passport is with my boss. Yes, sir, I know the kind of work I’m doing here,” she told Immigration officers.

Kuala Lumpur Immigration Department director Wan Mohamed Saupee Wan Yusoff said 12 Indonesian women aged between 21 and 38 were arrested.

Three local customers were issued witness summonses to report to the Immigration office, while two others, Nepalese and Indian nationals, faced action under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.

The brothel has reportedly been in operation for a year, with patrons coming in on a walk-in basis.
