Woman found dead, two others rescued after fire on 14th floor of PJ apartment


PETALING JAYA: A 31-year-old woman was killed while two others were rescued following a fire at an apartment in Sunway Damansara.

Selangor Fire and Rescue department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the distress call was made at about 8.39am on Saturday (Oct 12).

"21 firemen from three fire stations were dispatched to the scene.

"At the scene, the team discovered that a switch box on the 14th floor had caught fire," he said in a statement on Saturday.

The fire was eventually put out but a 31-year-old woman died with her body being found in a bathroom of an apartment unit, he said.

"Two others - a 29-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman - were rescued," he said.
