Collapsed riverbank in Ampang to be repaired


KUALA LUMPUR: The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) and the Drainage and Irrigation Department will carry out repairs to the collapsed riverbank at Taman Lembah Maju, Ampang near here.

MPAJ said following the incident on Saturday (Oct 12), its Rapid Action Team (Pantas) removed the two vehicles that almost fell off the cliff at around 9pm.

"The public, especially Ampang residents are urged to be alert and be prepared to face any kind of disaster, especially during the monsoon transition season and the monsoon season, which brings heavy rain and strong winds.

"The MPAJ Pantas unit can be contacted at 03-4285 7333 if case of any emergency or disaster," said MPAJ in a statement on Sunday (Oct 13).

On Saturay, the riverbank collapsed due to heavy rain and two vehicles almost fell into a drain.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of the operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said there were no casualties in the 7pm incident. – Bernama
