Perlis fully recovers from floods

KANGAR: Perlis has fully recovered from floods following the closure of two temporary evacuation centres (PPS) in Kangar and Arau, says the state Social Welfare Department.

Its director Ku Chik Ku Mat Esa said the two PSS are SK Sena in Kangar, which closed at 2pm yesterday and SK Arau, which closed at noon for the Arau district.

He said that 119 flood victims at SK Sena and five people sheltered at SK Arau as of 8am yesterday were allowed to return to their homes, Bernama reported.

The floods in Perlis occurred last Tuesday, with SK Sena and SK Kubang Gajah in Arau PPS opened at noon. The PPS at SK Kubang Gajah was closed at 12.30pm on Friday. Other PPS that were opened closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
