Four suspected drug dealers nabbed in Tampin, heroin and syabu seized

TAMPIN: Four people have been detained for suspected involvement in drug distribution, says Tampin OCPD Supt Amiruddien Sariman.

Three of the four suspects, aged between 22 and 26, also tested positive for methamphetamine and were found to have drug-related offences on their criminal records, he added.

"Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Tampin station detained the four in a car on Jalan Felda Jelai in Gemas at around 11pm on Monday (Oct 14).

"The team found two packets containing 120g of heroin and 2.5g of syabu in the car," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Oct 15).

He said preliminary investigations found that the suspects, all unemployed, were from Port Dickson and planned to sell the drugs in the Gemas area.

Supt Amiruddien said the case is being probed under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

The offence carries the death penalty or life imprisonment with whipping upon conviction.

They are also being probed under Sections 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the same Act.

"We have also obtained a court order to remand the suspects for seven days," Supt Amiruddien added.
