Kelana Jaya LRT disruption: Rapid Rail wants to restore service as soon as possible

KUALA LUMPUR: Repair works are underway following a service disruption on the Kelana Jaya LRT Line, affecting the track between the Wangsa Maju and Sri Rampai Stations due to unusual rainwater flow that damaged several track components, says Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd.

The operator of the RapidKL rail service said that the incident occurred at 10.20am, necessitating the power supply to be halted in the affected area to facilitate inspection and repairs.

"Rapid Rail's technical team is actively conducting repair works to restore services as soon as possible," the statement read.

In the meantime, a feeder service has been activated between the Gombak Station and Wangsa Maju station, with trains from Putra Heights turning back at Wangsa Maju station.

To assist passengers in continuing their journeys, 12 free feeder buses are operating at a frequency of every 15 minutes.

"We hope that repair work can be completed before the evening peak hour," Rapid Rail said.

Additionally, operational staff and auxiliary police personnel have been deployed at the affected stations to assist passengers.

Continuous updates on service status will be delivered via RapidKL's social media, station announcements, and on trains.

"Passengers are advised to plan their journeys and check RapidKL's social media for the latest information on the Kelana Jaya LRT Line," the statement advised.
