SINGER Datuk M. Nasir surprised his audience by dropping confetti of 10,000 duit raya or money packets from the roof of the stadium in which he was performing.
Each packet contained RM1. The packets were released during the closing song of his M N45IR Cipta 2 concert, which took place last Saturday night at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur, reported Harian Metro.
He said the out-of-the-ordinary gesture was proposed by the organiser, who suggested for it to be done during the closing of the concert with his popular Raya song, Satu Hari Di Hari Raya.
“I agreed to do this because it’s amusing. Yet, it also reflects a spirit of charity and generosity towards the people,” he said.
Concert organiser Iman Tang explained that they had to prepare 10,000 money packets and exchange RM10,000 for new RM1 notes.
The audience was pleasantly surprised by this, with some sharing videos of them collecting money packets on social media.
“First time receiving duit raya at a concert,” said Himan on TikTok.
“Most unique concert ever, with a Raya song and duit raya, too,” commented Syahril Azhar.
