Papar Hospital affected by floods after continuous downpour


KOTA KINABALU: Continuous heavy rain caused flooding and temporarily disrupted services at Papar Hospital on Tuesday (Oct 15).

Photos and videos circulating online showed floodwaters inundated parts of the hospital, including the Emergency Department and wards, with patients lying in their beds.

In a video posted by Facebook user Man Pagari, water was shown pouring from the ceiling, and filling up pails placed underneath.

The hospital has yet to issue an official statement.

"We inspected the hospital and found water levels at ankle-deep high in some areas," said a spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Services Department.

Apart from the district hospital, several schools were also affected by the flood.

Concerned parents took to social media to express their worries.
