Thunderstorm, heavy rain warning for Selangor, KL and other states extended to 5pm


PETALING JAYA: The thunderstorms and heavy rain warning for Selangor and Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday (Oct 15) has been extended again to 5pm.

The areas affected are Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling and Hulu Langat in Selangor and the entire city of Kuala Lumpur.

Also affected are the entire states of Penang and Perak.

Other areas are Kedah (Padang Terap, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu), Kelantan (Jeli and Kuala Krai),

Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, and Hulu Terengganu), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan, Bera, and Rompin), Jelebu in Negri Sembilan, Sarawak (Mukah (Dalat and Mukah), Kapit (Song), and Bintulu (Tatau) and Sabah (Interior (Tambunan), West Coast, Sandakan (Kinabatangan), and Kudat).

Malaysia is currently in the inter-monsoon period, with the country expected to experience weak winds blowing from various directions.

The inter-monsoon period will last until November although the north-east monsoon is expected to arrive earlier than usual.
