Wangsa Maju, Gombak LRT stations reopened, says Rapid Rail

KUALA LUMPUR: The Wangsa Maju and Gombak stations along the Kelana Jaya Light Rail Transit (LRT) line have reopened as of 3.30pm on Tuesday (Oct 15).

In a statement, Rapid Rail said the repair works were completed by their engineering team, with tests also done to ensure the line can operate according to safety standards.

“At the same time, our engineering and operations team will continue monitoring the system’s stability to ensure it follows safety standards,” it said in a statement on Tuesday.

Heavy rain on Tuesday morning disrupted the operations of the Kelana Jaya LRT line after tracks between the Sri Rampai and Wangsa Maju stations became flooded.

Rapid KL, in a Facebook post, said that there were no train services between Sri Rampai and Taman Melati due to the flooding, and alternative train arrangements had been activated.

Trains from Putra Heights were turned back at Sri Rampai, with shuttle trains operating between Taman Melati and Gombak.

Several areas in the city centre were also hit by flash floods following heavy rainfall on Tuesday.
