BuildXpo 2024 partners with Gamuda Bhd to showcase the future of sustainable construction

KUALA LUMPUR: Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the event manager of the Malaysia International Building and Construction Industry Showcase (BuildXpo) 2024 announced Gamuda Bhd as a platinum sponsor.

Scheduled from Oct 22 to 24 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) here, BuildXpo 2024 aims to foster innovation and technological advancement in the construction sector.

Gamuda Bhd will showcase its regional expertise in digital transformation, renewable energy and green construction technologies. This collaboration aligns with the event's focus on future oriented solutions and sustainable development in the sector.

BuildXpo 2024 is expected to attract over 15,000 trade visitors and feature 500 booths with 200 exhibitors.

Hosted by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia and managed by Qube, BuildXpo 2024 is endorsed by Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) and supported by Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB).

Under the theme ‘Envisioning the Future of Construction’, BuildXpo 2024 will showcase key industry segments and trends, including Construction Technology, Construction Materials, Construction Equipment, Construction Machinery and Systems and Services. The exhibition will present technologies reshaping the industry, including advancements in three-dimensional printing, robotics, smart building systems and industrialised building systems.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said, "BuildXpo 2024 serves as a platform for industry professionals to explore innovative solutions that can drive the construction sector forward.

“It aligns with the Government's focus on enhancing infrastructure and sustainable development, while also highlighting the diverse career opportunities available to young people in construction.”

Qube executive chairperson Richard Teo said, "BuildXpo 2024 goes beyond a traditional trade show. We're creating an experience where visitors can interact with the latest construction technologies firsthand.

“From virtual reality demonstrations of smart building systems to live showcases of three-dimensional printing in construction, BuildXpo will offer insights into the future of our industry.

“The collaboration with Gamuda Bhd significantly enhances our ability to present advanced sustainable construction practices."

Gamuda Engineering managing director Justin Chin Jing Ho said, "Our participation in BuildXpo 2024 reflects our commitment to showcasing advanced sustainable construction practices and embracing innovative technologies that drive the sector forward.

The exhibition will also feature a dedicated 'Innovation Hub', highlighting start-ups and emerging technologies set to influence the construction landscape. This area will provide a platform for young entrepreneurs and innovators to showcase their ideas and connect with established industry players.

BuildXpo 2024 will host a series of technical seminars and product demonstrations, offering attendees insights into the latest industry trends and practical applications of new technologies. These sessions will cover topics such as sustainable construction materials, artificial intelligence in construction management and the integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) in building systems.
