Budget 2025: Singles to receive RM600 under Sumbang Tunai Rahmah programme next year

PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says those from the singles category will receive RM600 under the Sumbang Tunai Rahmah (STR) programme next year.

The amount is part of the increase in allocation to RM13bil from RM10bil or both STR and Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA).

The allocation will allow eligible households to receive a maximum rate of RM4,600 compared to RM3,700.

"This increase will directly benefit nine million recipients of 60% of the population.

"We have heard and admit (about the burgeoning cost of living). Hence, we are taking steps to increase the allocation, which is the highest cash aid given by the government to cushion the people's cost of living."
