KLANG folk are facing a double whammy as Deepavali approaches: frequent flash floods and possible price increases due to it, Makkal Osai reported.
Little India Klang Entrepreneurs Association chairman Charles Manikan said Tengku Kelana remains the top spot for the Indian community to shop during festival seasons, with patrons from Kapar, Banting, Kuala Selangor and Meru.
He appealed to the city council to act on mitigation measures to counter the floods as there are concerns that prices of food items could subsequently increase.
> A Pakistani man based in the United Kingdom called the authorities in England and confessed to killing his daughter there after taking a flight back to Islamabad, the daily also reported.
Urrfan Sharif is also said to have written a note confessing to the murder of the 10-year-old girl, claiming that he did not intend to kill her but “things went too far”.
The report stated that it was not clear if Urrfan would face any consequences as Pakistan does not have an extradition treaty with the UK.
