PM takes a look at final touches for Budget 2025


PUTRAJAYA: Budget 2025, which will be tabled in Dewan Rakyat today, will further drive economic growth and ensure justice for the people, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In a Facebook post yesterday, Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said the Budget team and Finance Ministry staff were well-prepared for the task during his visit to the ministry’s office.

“Despite being busy finalising this inclusive and carefully crafted Budget, I was delighted to see the enthusiasm of the Budget team and had the opportunity to take photos with them.

“After the commemorative photos, I signed the documents related to Budget 2025, which will be presented in the Dewan Rakyat tomorrow,” he said in his post.

Yesterday morning, Anwar had taken time off to check on the final preparations for Budget 2025 at the Finance Ministry here.

Anwar, who arrived at 9.40am, was greeted by Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying and Treasury secretary-general Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican.

Also present to welcome Anwar were Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Public Service director-general Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz.

A total of 213 people are involved in preparing Budget 2025, comprising the Tax Team, Fiscal and Economic Team, National Budget Office Team, Budget 2025 Team, Budget 2025 Infographics Team, Budget 2025 Translation Team, Gear-up Team, and the Benefits Portal Team, reported Bernama.
