Budget 2025: Allocation to be fully utilised for disaster management, welfare of victims, says Nadma

KUALA LUMPUR: The allocation for the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) under the Madani Budget 2025 will be fully utilised to ensure more efficient and effective disaster management and for the welfare of affected victims.

Nadma Director General Datuk Khairul Shahril Idrus said the allocation will enhance the comfort of temporary evacuation centres by providing better, high-quality basic facilities for disaster victims.

"This allocation will be used to get items such as portable bathrooms and toilets, as well as more comfortable tents for the victims.

More nutritious food supplies will also be provided for them," he said when contacted by Bernama.

He said some of the allocations will be used to expand the distribution of the "wang ehsan” to more disaster victims.

"The money will also be channelled to the response agency as well as the disaster management secretariat at the state and district levels to ensure smooth management at all levels," he said.

In thanking the government for the allocation, Khairul Shahril said he would ensure it is fully utilised for the people.
