Johor Mentri Besar praises Federal incentives in Budget 2025

JOHOR BARU: Mentri BesaR Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has conveyed his appreciation for the Federal government's incentives for Johor outlined in Budget 2025.

He said that initiatives - particularly those related to the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) and the Special Financial Zone (SFZ) - are poised to invigorate the state's economic landscape.

"The JS-SEZ, a prominent feature of this budget, along with the appealing incentives under the SFZ, are set to enhance Johor's economic allure," he said on Saturday (Oct 19).

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, during Budget 2025's unveiling on Friday (Oct 18), mentioned that forthcoming special incentives for the JS-SEZ would attract high-quality investments and generate valuable local employment opportunities.

Onn Hafiz extended further thanks to the Federal government for its commitment to ongoing projects within the state.

"I'm grateful for the sustained investment in infrastructure, healthcare, and flood prevention works in Johor, which include the expansion of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) and the construction of Sultanah Aminah Hospital 2," he said.

The Mentri Besar also hinted at the upcoming Johor Budget 2025 announcement.

"The state budget will present a range of advantageous initiatives and developments, affirming the state government's dedication to the welfare of its residents," he added.
