Breeder lodges police report over missing goats, suspects black panther attack


ALOR GAJAH: A livestock breeder from Bukit Tampoi here lodged a police report after six of his goats were found dead, suspected to have been attacked by a black panther.

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah said the report was lodged at Alor Gajah police headquarters at 10pm on Saturday (Oct 19).

"The breeder found six of his goats mauled by a wild animal and one of the goats was dragged 200m from the pen," he said on Sunday (Oct 20).

Supt Ashari said the breeder has been involved in the livestock business since 2022 and has 13 goats.

"This was the first time he had encountered such an incident and decided to lodge a report to get the attention of the state Wildlife and National Parks Department," he added.
