MCA's youth, women's wings unanimously pass five resolutions each at AGMs

KUALA LUMPUR: The 49th Wanita MCA annual general meeting (AGM) on Saturday (Oct 19) unanimously passed five resolutions, covering party affairs, politics, policy, economics and education.

A total of 843 Wanita delegates who attended the AGM passed the resolutions after 10 delegates from ten states debated them.

The resolutions include calling on the government to make it mandatory for husbands to purchase insurance for their wives to ensure social and financial protection.

Wanita MCA also urged the government to support female entrepreneurship and improve the employment environment for women, enabling them to better balance family and career.

Also, they pushed for more recruits of young and outstanding female party members, so that more talented female candidates will be fielded in elections.

Meanwhile, the 60th MCA Youth AGM, which also took place on Saturday, passed five resolutions covering party and Youth wing affairs, politics, the economy, education and youth and sport.

After 13 delegates from nine states engaged in the debate session, 328 delegates passed the resolutions, which urged the government to develop comprehensive policies to actively promote e-sports.

They also urged the government to draft a comprehensive policy to stimulate the e-sports industry, including training more players and to implement programmes to drive development in e-sports in the country.

The highlight of the 60th MCA AGM will take place on Sunday (Oct 20) when Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also Barisan Nasional chairman officiates at the event.
