Tengku Hassanal demands justice for attacked worker

KUALA LUMPUR: Tengku Mahkota Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah (pic) has called for justice for a construction worker allegedly attacked by relatives of the Pahang royal family and a group of individuals last month.

Tengku Hassanal had demanded immediate justice for the worker, Sinar Harian reported. His Instagram story update on Friday stated that justice must be done and seen to be done.

“He (the victim) is my people (rakyat). Give him justice now. Those who fight for justice will always face opposition from those who do injustice,” he was quoted as saying.

Previously, through a statement issued by Istana Abdulaziz, Tengku Hassanal called on the police to conduct an immediate and thorough investigation.

In order to uphold justice, he asked that it be transparent and fair, without compromise to any party.

It was reported earlier that a road construction and maintenance worker claimed to have been injured after being attacked by a royal family member and several other people using sharp weapons and guns.

The 44-year-old man, known as Alias Awang, reportedly expressed disappointment on Thursday over the authorities’ lack of response to the incident.

Last month, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said that police were working on the investigation paper regarding allegations of a Pahang royal family member and a group of individuals attacking a man at a horse stable in Kuantan in June.
