Man escapes unhurt after tree falls on his car

KOTA KINABALU: A man escaped injuries when a tree fell on his car at Taman Bukit Sepanggar along Jalan Sepanggar in the suburbs of the city here Monday (Oct 21).

The man, in his 30s, managed to get out of his car safely with the tree blocking two of the car doors in the 2pm incident that occurred amid heavy rain in the state capital over the past few days.

Kota Kinabalu Civil Defence Department (APM) district officer Aizex Junior said a team was sent to assist in removing the tree and branches on the car after they received a distress call at 2.07pm.

"The car driver is safe but the damages to the car especially the roof were quite extensive," he said.

He said the fallen tree was cleared from the road to allow vehicles to pass through.
