SELAYANG: GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISB) CEO Datuk Nasiruddin Mohd Ali, his wife Datin Azura Md Yusof, and son of Al-Arqam founder Ashaari Muhammad, Adib At-Tamimi were among 22 who were charged at the Selayang Sessions Court here with being members of an organised criminal group.
All 22 were charged on Wednesday (Oct 23) under Section 130V(1) of the Penal Code and face imprisonment between five and 20 years upon conviction.
According to the charge sheet, Nasiruddin is himself accused of being a member of an organised criminal group, Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings at premises at Bandar Country Homes, Rawang, between October 2022 and Sept 11 of this year.

The 22 - including Nasiruddin - said they understood the charges against them, and the trial is set to take place at the Kuala Lumpur High Court with Dec 23 set for the case's mention date.
Aside from the three, the remaining 19 are 13 men and nine women who are all aged between 27 and 72-years-old.
No plea was recorded from the 22, as the case is under the jurisdiction of the High Court due to the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma).
During proceedings, GISB lawyer Datuk Rosli Kamaruddin requested Judge Lailatul Zuraida Harron @ Haron to give Nasiruddin and three other members 10 minutes to sign an affidavit, which was granted.
He also requested for one female member to get medical assistance, as she was feeling sick.
Judge Lailatul Zuraida also allowed those who are unwell to get medical aid.
Aside from Rosli, the other lawyers representing the 22 are Zaim Rosli, Dorina Abdullah, Boestamam Ahmad and M.Hafiz Zainal Abidin.
The prosecution team consists of Datuk Razali Che Ani, Datuk Nazran Mohd Sham, Lina Hanini Ismail and Siti Hajar Mat Radzi
On Tuesday (Oct 22), Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the individuals would be charged under Section 130V(1) of the Penal Code.
"The son of the Al-Arqam founder will also be charged with the same offence. All individuals involved will be charged at the Selayang Sessions Court tomorrow morning,” he said when contacted by Bernama on Tuesday (Oct 22) night

On Oct 10, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said that the top GISBH leader was among the 58 individuals re-arrested under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma).
He said since the launch of Op Global in September, authorities have arrested 415 individuals and rescued 625 victims aged between two months and 28 years.
Mohd Shuhaily said out of the 415 individuals detained, 273 have been granted bail, 37 released without conditions, 35 remain in custody, two have been handed over to the Kedah Islamic Religious Affairs Department while one has been transferred to the Immigration Department for deportation.
