Cikgu Din given leave to be with wife, says Education Ministry


PUTRAJAYA: The Education Ministry has acted immediately by granting leave for teacher Cikgu Din, to be with his wife, who is battling cancer.

In a statement issued on Thursday (Oct 24), the ministry said it will also be holding a meeting with Cikgu Din to discuss his welfare and other related matters.

"The ministry is concerned about the situation of a teacher who is being tested with his wife's health problems. Immediate action to assist is being taken. The teacher has been granted leave to be with his wife,” it said

It said the ministry prays for the recovery of the teacher's wife and will ensure that his and his family's welfare is taken care of.

Cikgu Din’s story went viral on social media after Facebook user Harima Abd Rahman shared about Cikgu Din’s problem with getting a transfer to be with his cancer-stricken wife. - Bernama
